Corcoran City Assessors

Appraisers from the Corcoran Assessor’s Office will be viewing properties and updating property records of farms and residential properties over the next three months. This is a routine process required by law every five years. The City is divided into five areas so that 1/5 of the properties are reviewed each year. The area being reviewed this year is a two-mile strip bounded by City boundaries on the east and west. The south boundary of the area is essentially County Road 50 and the north boundary is a line extending from the western portion of County Road 10 straight across to 93rd Avenue North to the eastern city line.

The appraisers wear identification cards and will introduce themselves as being from the Corcoran Assessor’s Office. If you do not wish the appraiser to view your home, you may decline the inspection, but will not be able to contest the valuation of the property until you allow an interior inspection, as prescribed by Minnesota State Law. With the changing real estate market and aging homes in Corcoran, it is generally beneficial to allow the appraiser to view the inside of your home. A more fair valuation can be done with an interior inspection.

The Assessor is a contracted service used by the City. Please call the assessor’s office at 763-473-3978 if you have any questions or concerns regarding your property taxes.
